Music - The universal language, isn't it the truth? In every tiny corner of our beautiful planet, it is music that helps people get through their day, their night, their struggle. We unconsciously rely on music. In short, we are all wired to attract the vibration. We need it. Some of us actually get to write and create music. For me, there is nothing more rewarding than creating stories with words and rhythms. Something that did not exist - now does. It is probably the same for the carpenter, the architect, the painter. It is cool and I am so thankful that I get to do it.
Hey, turn your speakers up. There's music playing. Tulsa is a city with an abundance of very talented musicians and as a songwriter - what a treat!! The songs playing here on the website are from my CD's "Flying Boy" and "Starcrossed & All That Jazz." The songs feature my good buddies Jeff Blair on bass, Danny Humphrey on lead guitar, Greg Raw on drums, Pat Murray on keyboards, and me on vocals and acoustic guitar. Three of the "Flying Boy" songs feature my good friends the Scary Avenue Choir, who are Lucy Weberling, Trish Poling, Jo Morton, Ashley Elcombe, Shirley Johnson, Art Elcombe, and my daughter, L.A. based musician/songwriter, Lauren Little. I wrote all of the songs on "Flying Boy" and share credit with Messr's Raw, Blair, Murray, and Humphrey on the Starcrossed tunes.
I am currently rehearsing with a sweet Tulsa band and good friends as well, The Prairie Dawgs, for an all acoustic CD of 12/15 of my songs. Recording begins in June of 2010 with a tentative title of "Okie Chronicles." The Prairie Dawgs are Jo Morton on vocals, Tim Terral on guitar and mandolin, J. Pat Murphy on guitar and harmonica, and Jim Vincent on fiddle. The Dawgs all sing as well and I'm real excited about this project. Keep an eye on the calender for club dates for me beginning in the summer of 2010.
Peace & love - Michael
